I mean I would partially like to see a little movie (or episode) with the Inner Senshi (and even Outers) as kids. The scene from the Eternal movie version though. Seeing Chibi Mars launch a fire soul at Nehellania makes me proud!

Not to diss on the artstyle of Eternal, but the only difference between little senshi and 16 year-old ones was the body proportion. The faces were the same more or less. Except for some scenes in the movies it is kind of like they are babies the whole movies.

Note that when I say "leans on the naturally & realistically looking side," I don't mean it should be as realistic as or 100% like a camera shot or drawing, of course, as that's not practical, nor even preferable in the 1st place - what I mean is on a relative base only.


If the current trend would continue, sooner or later we'd see the characters not quite unlike the SD ones.

Well, I can imagine Sailor Moon end up looking like From the Abyss. Nothing against,, it is great show, but the style....

Yes, she did for SMC1-2. We're not sure if she approved SMC3 or not.

So far the best style I've seen is that fan made transformation someone posted but I assume drawing Sailor Moon like that must be hella complicated.

I see no reason why she would not have been asked to approve S3 designs. We are talking about someone who forced international dubs to use honorifics so she is clearly in full control of the franchise, particulary on a matter that is so important.

This and some of the merch of the art for s1-2 while tried to replicate the manga look way off than the show itself. Personally if I had it my way, I would have loved the whole show looked like the Moon Pride cd front cover. I loved these, they looked unique, not moe, pretty and distinctive. I wonder who drew it.

LOL. This is probably the most dull art rerender I saw in the entire franchise. The people who did the merch art for the 90s anime didn't have the most beautiful style, but they recreated manga arts way better than this.

Wasn't this art done for a preorder BRD bonus, for some big size tissue poster ? I just checked and I may have them but they are still in the plastic wrap and I don''t want to open it lol.
Anyway imo it's not the worst art, I somewhat like it a little even is there is like 0% originality.
Moon Pride CD art was the best yes (minus Moon, alas).

I... don't see nothing wrong with the art. Besides this merch artist going sightly off model (you can tell is that artist because the shadows and the art line) it looks good? plus it was part of a group artwork. At least they tried to come with some old references and different poses unlike the whole Eternal's art campaing, but whatever

Pluto looks okay..and I mean okay. Uranus looks okay too. Sailor Moon passable somewhat but the rest look weird but for me personally it's mainly the poses. I really don't like how Mars and Jupiter look clueless. I'd say Venus looks okaybtoo I guess. Something seems off about the picture as a whole though.

It's good to see the girls together though. Is this fan made or something? At the bottom it says No copyright infringement intended...

yes it is official, it was the art from the back cover of the character songs albums.
They tried to replicate the first group art we got from season 1 but they failed since they didnt play with the angle at all and it looks kinda awkward

I know this style isn't liked but I would at least like to see Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn in it just once officially.
