Sailor Moon Manga Gets Worldwide Digital Release in 10 Languages Starting on July 1

Toei announced at the "Usagi Special Birthday Party 2019" event on Sunday that Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga is getting a worldwide digital release in 10 languages. The releases will start on July 1. Toei did not specify the languages, or what companies will be handling the localizations and releases.

The languages are: Japanese, English, French, German, Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Thai, and Portuguese.

After almost three decades of Naoko & co selling us the same manga again and again in various editions, reprints, new covers, translations, we finally get... yet another release of the same manga. Yay! If we keep buying it, maybe by 2050 we'll get a dozen more releases of the same manga, wouldn't that be cool?

I was joking before when I said I expected them to announce another release of the manga at the birthday event... I can't believe they actually did!

Especially a digital release... Hadn't it previously been reported that Naoko was against making the manga available digitally?

So will this be the end of MissDream? I do wish Kobo has them too. I like reading off my tablet, but I'm glad to support official releases.

I'm kind of disappointed in the language choices they made. Does nobody care about the European market besides Spain, Portugal, Germany, France and Italy? Anyways, I'm probably not going to spend a single buck on them. The Kodansha 2011 release is enough to satisfy my tastes.

I think they'll just talk about the manga and the Super Live. They'll probably mention Eternal, but just to say it's coming next year; I doubt they'll reveal any new info.

Portugal is a really small country and if it weren't for Brazil, Kodansha probably wouldn't bother releasing the Portuguese translation in digital format.
