It was both surprising and almost expected that they got a new translator for the eternal editions.

Osabu announced the character design for the Crystal movies will be the same as the 90s anime.
I wish! Then I can just pretend that Crystal and SuperS never happened, and that the Dream movies are actually the fourth season of the 90's anime

The full pannel is on YouTube
- Osabu Pannel at Anime Expo 2018

@43:00 in the video they talk about season 4 of Sailor Moon Crystal. Osabu confirmed the fourth season is in production and that the character designs will be the same as the original 1990’s anime. Knowing Japans strictness with any sort of leaks we probably won’t see the character designs till a few months prior to the seasons release. We’re so use to seeing concept art/character designs for American made media here years before a tv show or movie is made.. we just gotta stay patient guys lol

Also just side note, they talked about the Sailor Moon attraction ride they had in Unviersal Studios Japan. Japan has interest in bringing the attraction over to Unviersal Studios Hollywood but the Hollywood location has shown no interest so it’s really up to us fans to ralley up enough intrest to get the attraction over seas. It’s the same kind of deal for the Musicals too. Seems like Osabu’s appearance at Anime Expo was to get a feel around and actually see if any sort of Sailor Moon projects in the U.S would be a sucess here or not. He’s definitely going to take the feedback he got at Anime Expo back to Toei & Naoko or who ever is in charge. Hopefully the musicals and the attraction ride gets brought over!!

Specifically, he says (via the translator) that "it's going to have the same kind of look as the older series."

It's also interesting to me that he spoke of it as "season 4." I wonder if it's still going to be movies or if maybe they've changed their minds...

Same character designs as those of the 90's anime?

Okay, we know it is official now that they understood the message: the more you make it look like the 90's anime, the more it will appeal to general audiences.

I just wish they would get Ikuhara to direct *wishful thinking*
