I do wonder what the sales figures were for both volumes. The reviews seem mostly positive and I've seen some Japanese fans asking about volume 3 on Twitter, but there never seemed to really be much buzz around the project which is odd. Maybe the market is just too oversaturated with editions of the manga right now? Maybe they're waiting until they can do a physical release?

I might be wrong, but this kind of releases are only digital unless it's a big BIG manga like Dragon Ball or One Piece. However, in case of a physical release it'll be a nightmare to deal with PNP approvals; one single volume has been delayed for an entire year in other countries because "some shades of colour of the cover are not right"......... imagine a whole volume....pages and all............................ :dead:

PRAISE JESUS

I think we are soon to see a version of the manga without the insect arms Haruka and similar mistakes.
So far the only difference in this version is that a lot of the hiragana has been replaced with kanji. There have been no redrawn panels / art touch-ups so far, so I'm sure Haruka's mantis arm will be presented to us in full digital color glory in four years.

Perhaps they will use the Nakayoshi version of that panel instead which is better.

At least it hasn't been cancelled.

But the covers.... God, why are PNP/Kodansha still using that dreadful artwork? They look amateur, a bad fanart with those stretched and pixelated backgrounds.

Will they release two volumes every two years or were they waiting for the new Outers individual illustrations of the museum for the volumes 6-10? :googly:

Looks nice but they should fix the leg issue with Mars. Not gonna lie but it looks a little tacky to have her leg cut off like that.

All in all, it looks pretty and I would love to see what the interior looks like.

At least Mercury is happy now that she's not the only one got her legs cut. She was waiting for 2 years for another victim like her.
Who feels that the green shade on Jupiter's cover is not strong enough? It's not like they used real planet surfaces for their covers, right? So they didn't have to stick with the orange shade of Jupiter.
Edit: Volume 3 - 4 still sounds like a dream for me. :luna:

I've loved most of the cover versions over the years, from the beautiful nostalgia that the originals bring, the cute more modernized look of the Perfect Edition, to the regalness of the Eternal Editions... but the cover artwork for the All Color Editions just don't really give anything except looking like they were sloppily thrown together and frankly the new ones are really ugly.

It's a shame because I recall the actual contents of Vol. 1&2 being pretty well recieved even on this forum which tends to steer towards sharp criticism.

I recall saying back in the beginning of the pandemic how cheap it was to throw Ice Skating illustration for a cancelled event and call it a day.
I don't think they're ugly, they're just not meant to be covers and it shows.

It's so strange to me that the color manga is being treated like an afterthought. Where's the fanfare? After two years of radio silence, they randomly announce the next two volumes days before they're going to be released? A color version of the manga is something fans have wanted for years, and it's not something every manga series gets, so I don't understand why Kodansha is making zero effort to market these. The bunkobon got more promo for crying out loud!

Guys, do you think Naoko is avoiding drawing Tuxedo because she forgot how to draw male anatomy? Drawing male outfit requires more knowledge about shadows, folds and the body.

I bet they just waited for the 30th anniversary
