LOL The CD arrived right after I posted yesterday! Here's my review:
1. Moonlight Densetsu by LiSA: Not terrible, but I'm not sure if I'm going to listen to it a lot. Very punk and done in LiSA's rock style. I really like LiSA too. *shrug*
2. La Soldier--I really liked this version! I think fans of this song will really enjoy it too.
3. Moon Revenge by Bish--It's hilariously bad. It's just sped up and then towards the end they go full metal ugly all over it. LOL
4. Otome no Policy by Yoko Ishida--This sounds like the performance at the Classical Concert. Pretty standard, very enjoyable!
5. Revolution Night & Day by Etsuko (from the Crystal Character CD)--done in Etsuko's breathy style, I really like it. I know some people don't like Etsuko's breathy style, so maybe this version is not for you. But it's super cute!
6. Raishiku Ikimasho--I think it's better than the version on the 20th Anniversary CD. This is one of my favorite all-time songs, but I think the original is still the best. But this version isn't too bad.
7. Kaze Mo Sora Mo Kitto--similar to the original, but definitely a different flavor of it. I really enjoyed this rendition! Probably my favorite song or 2nd favorite song so far on this CD.
8. Sailor Star Song by Silent Siren--not bad, but the vocalist has an extremely nasal voice. *sigh*
9. Eternal Eternity by Queen Bee aka Avu-chan & ???--So, this is interesting. I only recently learned this, but on the first tribute CD, I thought a man was singing on Ai no Senshi, but really it was Avu-chan who is non-binary. Ze also sings on this song and I believe ze does some Michiru's parts! In fact, I wonder if Avu-chan does both parts... (Avu-chan also sings the OP for Devilman Crybaby)
10. Moonlight Densetsu by the Crystal Senshi VAs--Each VA takes turns singing a line. Sounds very auto-tuned. In the middle, they do their transformation calls which I've always wanted to hear in this song. Woohoo!! However, since it's very auto-tuned, it's kinda meh for me.
11. Tuxedo Mirage by the Crystal Senshi VAs--Better than Moonlight Densetsu, they toned down the autotune. I would say I like the Momoclover Z version better actually.
Conclusion: I would say the 20th Anniversary Tribute CD is better. If I had to choose one, I'd get the 20th one. And I would choose the Classical Concert CD over this too. That said, I don't mind having this CD--yay Sailor Moon music!
