Well, Marav [asked me] to make a thread like this, and I decided to do it, but expanded it to cameos in general (even though the bulk of it is about what he's asking me about). If he would rather this be specific to just the ones I'm mentioning and not also ask if there are any more out there one can spot, then I'll edit accordingly. *shrug*
To start, as Rosen pointed out in [that same thread] (about the crime show "Bones" referencing SM), there is an entry on [Wikimoon] about SM cameos. You can find it [here].
I made reference to some nods of the head to SM, all in the [real] or [super robot] genre. The first is actually kind-of an in-joke in some games that includes [Gundam] and [Evangelion] in a crossover of multiple real/super robot anime. Basically, [Misato Katsuragi] has a crush on [Amuro Ray], and there's some flirting going on. I can't verify this first-hand as I don't have the games in question, and though maybe Wikipedia's not the most trusted encyclopedia on hand, but mentions of it elsewhere on the web (when using keywords in a web-search that at least contains those two names) make me trust this to be true. *shrug* Also, there's mention of Misato making SM-related comments about what I next referenced...
...the [GF13-050NSW Nobel Gundam] from [Mobile Fighter G Gundam], an anime that ran from 1994 to 1995. (By the way, the [GFF Figure] does more justice to the mecha design than the lineart in the first related link, though I'd still re-do the head a bit, at least.) Even if you don't feel it was a homage to Sailormoon, can you at least see some sort-of resemblence? (Personally, I feel this mecha design looks closer to Sailor V, and thus [this forum signature] I made.) The person whom designed Nobel Gundam was [Hajime Katoki] (a favorite of mine). He also designed...
...[Fei-Yen] from [Virtual-On], a pretty good arcade game if you ask me, though it's been years since I've played it in any form. Intentional or not (and I've been web-searching to figure out if it is), can you still see [the resemblance]? Over the years, Fei-Yen (by the time of [Virtual-On Force]) starts [looking more like Chibimoon] to me.
Now that I got three (possible) cameos/references/nods-of-the-head/hat-tips/etc. out of the way (though I have a feeling they might be shot out of the sky), any more out there you guys can point out?
