Not that it means anything but the latest Digimon movie is 94 minutes long and appraently its really good, better than Tri movies from what i've heard.
A 94 minute long Part 1 of a Sailor Moon would be great. I'm not putting too much thought into them actually doing it, but a Moonie can "dream."

Fingers, legs, and eyes crossed for some good Sailor Moon news in the upcoming months!

95 minutes sounds realistic to me and with a good screenplay it doesn't have to be longer then that. I expect each movie to be between 85 - 95 minutes long. I know we probably won't get a short story, but it would be sweet, since it is kinda tradition to have that. What manga source would make sense to be adapted as a short?

I'm hoping for at least 105 minutes for each movie. 110 would be ideal. If the run time is sub 90 minutes they're gonna be cutting out a ton of material.
I think 110 minutes is a good idea.

Not really, if they don't overdo the transformations and use dynamic attacks in real time instead of padding it with long sequences.
Yes really, because A.) you know TOEI is going to pad the movie with stock footage. It's what they do and B.) Dream arc might not be as long as others but it's still got a ton of material to cover. If the movies are 90 minutes apiece that's the same as giving each chapter about 15 minutes of screen time. That's not a lot.

I also hope for longer films, but therr are ways to cut the right stuff. I think you are right, though. Chiaki Kon likes to copy paste the 90s show way too much to use something more dynamic and less stock-footage. I just feel like now that is is a film and not series, they need a less repetitive approach. I think 100 - 110 minutes would be perfect.

I don't think season 3 has stock footage becaus Chiaki Kon likes it, but because season 3 was supposed to be closer to the 90s anime, since fans all over the world were missing the feel of the original anime had. And of course, also to save time/money.

A) stock footage doesn't make much sense in a movie because we'll probably see the senshi only once transforming and attacking in each film. Of course it all depends on the script and if Toei wants to cut the movies later into episodes, which I think would be a bad idea.
B) yes there is a ton of material and there will be cut a lot because it's necessary. Usually when there is a film adaption of a novel, they have to cut a lot of stuff to make the plot work for a film, since narrative structures in film follow mostly patterns.

I rather have an anime that tells the story of the Dream arc in an original and new way, faithful to the source material instead of a 1:1 adaption, using the manga as a storyboard (like Crystal did so far), because that won't work anyway.

Each episode of Crystal is about 25 minutes. Minus 1:30 for the OP, another 1:30 for the ED, 0:30 for the next episode preview, 0:15 for the title card and eyecatch, and 2:00-4:00 for stock footage, each episode is really only around 17-19 minutes long. Giving each chapter two to four minutes less screen time is not necessarily a big deal depending on what they cut and how they structure the film.

^ This plus calculating how many minutes they could spend each chapter on average is a pointless exercise since it's a movie. Crystal had to fit each chapter within a 25 minute time constraint because they were adapting the story in a 1:1 ratio. With a movie they are free to adapt 1 chapter into 15 minutes of story and another into 25. There's no exact science to it.

This is why people are hopeful the pacing will be better. With a good team, they should be able to play with the time to their advantage.

And it was such a nice opportunity to show a high quality image of the other girls for the different flavours. Toei will be Toei. Is it me or the image is a bit tweaked. The blush on Usagi's face is gone and the nose is a bit more emphasized. Might be my imagination though.
