Did it, though? She was never mentioned as a supervisor for Crystal. She might have criticized S1+2 so they added the funny moments, but I don't know if that's just a rumor. She hasn't been credited for supervision, so I guess her involvement was minimal and will be more of importance from now on. Maybe it's also a signal to the fans to show they won't screw this up but take this project seriously.

How big was her influence on PGSM? I never had the nerve to watch it, but people seem to have high opinions on it, so I may give it a second try.
I think what the previous poster meant, was that they wished that her supervision started 6 years ago instead of now

Thank you guys! I watched 2 episodes so far and I'm already in love with what it adds to the SM universe. Tuxedo Mask vs. Sailor V moments <3
It is pretty fun, gets progressively darker, which was something I loved. My main issue with the life action is the uneven tone later on. Everythig gets pretty serious and suddenly a gag joke amids the drama. It somehow works in animated form, but not in life action. Still it is quite good and very fresh as it does a lot of stuff differently.

I remember watching the whole series of PGSM in 2 days. :) It was an action-packed and full of plot twists film. However, we didn't have a chance to see Queen Metalia.

hello i was wondering what do you think the senshi gonna use for transformation?
because in the manga the senshi use some heart crystal thing for transformation but in the 90s they use that strange pen or something weird
well i hope toei use the heart crystal because of the manga xD but with the reuse of some things of the 90s anime i dont know maybe their going too do the same as infinity arc

They will hopefully use the crystals from the mang and will transform only once. If more is needed - offscreen.

They didn't use the Outers' Lip Rods from the '90s anime for Uranus and Neptune's transformation in Crystal Season 3, so I think they will stick with the heart shaped Sailor Crystals

Overall, they've been fairly consistent with using the designs for items the way they're depicted in the manga vs. the original anime.

They fixed the gradient skirts as well. I hope they keep close to the manga. This arc deserves it.

I guess that's meant to be an intentional "break" especially for the younger audience to "take a breath" before returning to & continuing the increasingly tense drama. But yeah, it feels inconsistent. lol

It is jarring at times. Sometimes it works, but towards the end it gets a bit too much.

Yeah - I think it's also interesting that the first key visual is a direct copy of a manga frame with a background straight out of Naoko's color artwork.

SuperS has a lot of iconic visuals, so if they wanted to double down on '90s anime nostalgia they would have easily referenced something from that... But they didn't. It's too early too tell, but if my hunch is right, with Naoko supervising, Eternal could be the most visually aligned with the manga that we've seen animated so far. I'm really hoping not only for more graceful movement, but scenes that recall Naoko's watercolor backgrounds (all three seasons of Crystal have such generic looking backgrounds when Naoko's artwork is RIGHT there for inspiration).

I actually like the backgrounds in Crystal, but I really hope they base more visuals on the manga. I am still not convinced on the designs, but n 10 months when they release one new piece of artwork we will find out.

There's one thing I don't understand. Uranus' sword changes in Crystal. Does that happen in the manga, too?
