is strange so the first 2 seasons most people said was bad but sell
and in the other hand we have season 3 that most say was better and sell poorly mh and well was the most anime re-watched on crunchyroll but that wasn't in japan
now we will see what happen in January if it will sell because of the 90s resemble or not

at least the 90s fans and the manga/crystal fans agree that the new transformation is stiff or bad
well i look at it in some social media

It can be a carbon copy of the 90s - if the storytelling doesn’t work and the animation sucks, nostalgia won’t be enough for success.

I still have a feeling the story will be great and we will forgive them the lazy animation. Like this is opposite season 1 for me. I loved everything promotion wise and then I saw the CGI transformation and the lackluster writing and animation... And here I think it will be exact opposite.

Agreed. Riding on the back of the 90s only works so much. This is their time to really "fix" the Dream Arc so my fingers are crossed, legs, arms, and eyes are crossed that story will be cohesive and not full of 90s pandering.

I have forever been wondering what Mamoru looks like. I didn't get a good view of him.

The First was going to get a dubbed theatrical release here in Brazil, but due to Covid, it was released on streaming.
Funny how a recent Lupin movie can get released here, but Sailor Moon, which is 10x more popular, is taking 1000 years to get the old anime rereleased. Toei and Naoko must be a pain in the neck for licensors when combined
The first four episodes had a dubbed theatrical release here in México. Now, there was a polemic because the people who paid for the dub wanted the old voices + their old names but people were crying this wasn't supossed to be a remake but a new adaptarion, etc. At the end of the day, we got japanese names with old spanish attacks and calls but you can tell they already recorded the dub before the change 'cause Ami calls Usagi "Serena" at the end of act 2 lmao
Also they censored the season 3 lesbians kisses for the tv broadcast

Also, going back to CGI, the only bad thing for me were the 3D models, the 2D art didn't translate too good to 3D and the transformations were kinda slow... Other than that, they were good, specially Venus with the ribbon, compared to how sloppy venus turns around in season 3

Wasn't the voice actress for :usagi: in Mexico still hasn't received her pay check?

A little bit off topic but the Mexican telenovela 'Rubi' has a reboot.

new Rubi is terrible, watched it in January. They couldn't find someone so ugly and old for the role. This is like 6th version. There is a tv show, movie, 2004 tv, phillipino version, lebanese version and now this. And only 2004 was as beautiful as corrupted.

Back on the topic, I guess Latin America will either have a new cast or will pass on Eternal, considering the scandal.

With Eternal, my mindset is going to be like this: I won't be critical of the movies, including the animation, until later. The only thing I care about right now is seeing Dream story faithfully adapted to animation, so that will be my only criteria when I see the films. I might have stuff to say about specific stuff later after I see it, but in the mean time, I am keeping most of my expectation on low.

This sums up perfectly how I feel about Eternal too.

This is the exact conclusion I came to. But then the movie format is concerning never the less... I hope they managed somehow. If we know the runtime at least...

As someone stated earlier, the more you watched the transformation, the more you get used to it. I mean Im not an animation expert but if it had more frames in some scenes it would be nice. I was watching it on a larger screen HD and the eyes look really stunning. I like how in Eternal you can see them much better than in the 90's and the now more pronounced back bows are in Eternal. They look good, to be honest now after looking at it in HQ. I still think things will turn out well.

I like this part from the transformation. Usagi looks so cute but she also looks very very young. Almost Chibi-Moon's age.

She does look young, but not as young as in the first concept art they released and not as young and boyish like they all looked in s3 half the time. And still Chibi Usa looks younger than Usagi so at least it is not so jarring. She still looks beautiful. Btw, is it me or they struggle with their tiaras a bit as well...

The trouble is that you won't be able to see that beautiful frame clearly, but the frame below will last longer:

The dresses look very weak. Is Chibi Moon that short? What happened with the end of Sailor Moon's hair?

I completely agree it is almost as if key animators do inbetweens and inbetweeners are in charge of key frames. This has been a thing since act 1
