What does everyone mean by the "Digimon Treatment"?? Not a series I follow or understanding that phrase reference to.
Digimon movies were split into episodes for streaming release.

For Setsuna I always explained it for myself as the Pluto we met in Infinity is the reborn Pluto from Silver Millenium, as it looks like she died together with Uranus and Neptun and was "reincarned" as awaken by Neo Queen Serenity. As she is the guardian of time she also got her memories from her future self, which was the one who we saw in Black Moon. Or she just exists in different time lines simultaniosly

Oh I see! Well it was mentioned it will be subbed in a variety of languages. They may stream the two movies actually... doesn't seem far-fetched.
Well, it was never stated the two films will be subbed. At least I haven't heard it. The last time they said that was for season 1 and 2. Maybe you got it confused with the digital manga edition release in 10 languages.

I really hope for simultaniois release, as even if it reaches American cinemas, the rest of the world will have another half a year till they release it in Japan... With such a long wait for the movie release, it would be unbearable to wait another half an year. A possible release in other countries would make it even longer as they usually push the release for after screenings are done in other countries. If the movie comes out in summer 2020, we wont be able to watch till December, unleass a miracle like with Digimon happens. Another thing for splitting it into episodes will be reaction. A guilty pleasure of mine.

I wonder what people think when they expect each movie to be 2hours long or more. I don‘t see that happening at all. Dragon Ball Broly is 100 min long and I consider that as sufficient and we can be already happy if Sailor Moon Eternal will get close to that. I predict somewhat 85-90 min. for each.

I'd buy that - she's the lord of time afterall, a supposedly 4D being who can also see different points of time simultaneously. :)

Nah, it'd be like Gandhi, which runs over three hours & has a break at the middle for the audience to go to the washroom. :googly:

I do not care about Viz, nobody would wait that long. Once it is out in Japan it will be available, true, illigally, but I wanna see it before 2022.
Season 1-2 for me were good concept with bad execution. Season 3 turned into rehash Precure concept with decent execution. These new designs are in a very different direction. I hope the finished product is a tad less cutesy.
I mean I think Viz would probably split it up into episodes.Than realise it to the states.

If the 2 movies get the Digimon Tri treatment, they will most likely be only split into 8 episodes total since each Digimon Tri movie was split into 4 episodes. That’s kind of disappointing :-/

Since this' the 2nd time I see the word misspelled in that same way here, lemme play the bad grammar Nazi cop & correct it to "release."
Please forgive me for these. I am primarily on my phone and English has never been my biggest friend. Anyway I don't see this work for less than 100 minutes. Pop in Q was 100 minutes, plus I think Chiaki Kon would try to cram it. It would help if we see long attacks once and then make them instant, it would help with the time. I know nothing is going to happen at Anime Expo tomorrow, but I can dream for another visual, just one. Something. Anything...

I have a question to people who watched the digimon movies: how consistent is the animation between the movies and in the movies themselves? As we saw with 90s anime and Crystal the animation between episodes changes a lot, different styles etc. I know One Piece movies for example have a consistent, hiigh quality animation but thats One Piece. If Digimon is split into epsiodes does that mean the animation within each movie can/does vary aswell?

I am not a fan and I watched just the first one, but the animation was consistent. Toei do better with movies in general, minus tv movies of course,

After the SMCrystal disaster we shouldn‘t be too optimistic, but at the same time I‘m expecting nothing less then Broly. I mean...Naoko Takeuchi herself is supervising! Toei might finally care about this franchise and blow us away. (please do!)
