Yes, the musicals did the Shittennou-X-Senshi correct. I liked the idea of the Kings being known as Pandemic 4.

I like the little connection between Ami and Zoisite too and how he tried to help her.

I know this is a Crystal thread but I wanted to mention PGSM again and how they treated the Shittenou. I thought it was interesting how each of them behaved differently in this series. I was watching it again and got goosebumps when "Classic Music Piano Player" Zoisite and Venus made an alliance of some sort.

He's like, "Stay away from our Master!" and Venus is like, "Stay away from our princess!" and this got me really excited seeing them interact like this.

Also, I was laughing hard at the banter between Mars and Venus, when Mars says, "I thought you said I was the leader!" and then Venus said, "Until I returned...you were my sub..." and Mars walked toward her like...."Excuse me......???"

Then there was that scene where Kunzite and Jadeite fought against Endymion, Sailor Moon, and Venus.

They could have really made PGSM into an anime and it would have been good tbh.

In any case, I hope the next adaptation we get is like PGSM story-wise.

Now, the time for the Eternal movie is coming soon! Still hoping we get more previews of it in the future before the premier.

Isn’t it funny that the original premier would’ve only been 8 days away.
It is. I really hope they drop some trailer on that date, just to give us something. It is right about time. They have this deal with the supermarket chain, they can play a trailer there, it would be cool advertising. I wanna see a minute or so of actual original animation. It might even give us a clue on what to expect from the adaptation of the story. At least Higurashi is comming to fill my weeks till January. Although nobody knows when we are going to see the films. I am sure people will talk about the adaptation at least. Knowing what to expect is better and it will adjust our expectations.

I know I just want a proper trailer. It will make waiting till January so much easier.

Because Sailor Moon has nothing to do with America. Why should they care? Why is America the only country they have to care?
Lmao... I giggled at this comment harder than I should.

True, though. Im American and it is a tragic day of remembrance in the U.S. but not in Japan so Sept 11 really holds no weight to when the Sailor Moon is released.

Because Sailor Moon has nothing to do with America.
North American market kept the Sailormoon market alive for many years and has a very strong and active fan base. Naoko cares about her fans in North America and other countries too.

I still think its insensitive especially since their most active and largest international market is in the US next to France.

In what way it is insensitive to release a movie in another country in that date? I mean, it wasn't the release date in the USA either.
At the same time, isn't it a "normal" day in the US? Do shops open, people go to work, children to school....?

I'll answer that to you in a private message. I don't want to derail this thread anymore as that's already a political topic. My apologies.

it doesn't matter to me. We don't observe/respect Japanese holidays or tragedies, why should they?

It could have been insensitive if this was the date in the US. Otherwise... Just think how many people died in recent years in Earthquakes and Tsunamis. And the fire in Kyoani, I highly doubt someone in the US would stop launching their product on one of these dates. The Unisoft forward will be on September 10th, hours before 11th and do they care? This is business. Who knows, maybe at the same date today in another country something devastating happened... America is not the center of the universe. Japan or any other country on the planet is not obliged to always takes into consideration American sensibilities nor tragedies, nor social or health problems.

They really don't be caring to be honest.

They probably could care less to be honest. If we were that important, our opinions could shift the attitudes of the Japanese animators.

Also, I have to agree with the other posters about the U.S. not recognizing any other countries days on certain things, so they don't have to recognize ours. I understand what you mean but considering this is just a cartoon which has nothing to do about Americans or American living or even the Twin Towers, there's really nothing offensive about it's release on Sept 11. Lol

Sailor Moon Crystal is not that bad but could have been done better in some parts. Ill still watch it but right now I'm watching PGSM again because its enjoyable. I really enjoyed the scene where Ami snapped on Rei about talking about her mama..lol The interactions between the girls in that show are so good.
I agree there are some parts of Crystal that could have impoved upon especially regarding the animation. I agree, PGSM is enjoyable to watch. It's a great retelling of the Dark Kingdom arc with Super Sentai elements. The girls had wonderful chemistry, their friendship is very well developed. I appreciate the Dark Mercury saga, it's so dramatic. That mini-arc was great exploration of Ami's character.

@SailorSpySedna As much as I love the manga, I realize that it has its flaws. The pacing is one such issue. I loved the 2018 Nogizaka46 Musical! I saw the Team Moon performance. I'm going to see Team Star eventually.

I am not familiar with the Japanese movie industry and how distribution works in that country but I am looking at the list of cinemas that will have the Sailor Moon movie and I find it quite short. I mean, Sapporo with 2 million people will only have one cinema offering the movie. And in Tokyo it's basically one theater in each ward.
I expected more but I don't know if this is normal for anime movies. Do you know of similar cases so we can compare?

"Not that bad" is really not a compliment, you know. If the best thing we can say about a remake of the greatest magical girl series of all time is "not that bad" then it actually is that bad.
If you say so....

Maybe because I'm a simple a guy but I enjoy and accept SMC for what it is, could it have been handled better? Yes I do agree with that but it's not as horrible as everyone likes to overreact about here like calling it a failure etc. Is abit much...

I hope with the movies it finishes off SMC properly though and they learned from.the mistakes they made the first 2 seasons

SMC is far, far away from being a perfect product, but isn't that Sailor Moon's main representations in a nutshell?

People can debate their favorite artists, but there's no denying that the wongy switching between art styles in the original series was weird. And it went on for the entire series!

Then there's the manga with the giant Uranus arm, wrong transformation phrase, etc...

Plus for us English speakers, there's been a problem with practically every English release of the manga and show. Weird translations, censorship, etc.

Of course I'd love to see SMC/E get the attention, budget, and care of something like the new Eva movies, but it's obviously not going to happen this time around. I remain grateful that it exists at all. The SM community was really starting to fade away before the manga and anime re-releases, and flawed or not, C/E are adding a bit more fuel to keep fans engaged and excited over a very old property.
