That's what I was thinking. Dragon Ball and Pretty Cure are popular. Dragon Ball has always exciting new adventures and threats and a lot for their fanbase to really share. I'd really like in the future for at least some of those musicals or anything new to come from Sailor Moon.

I wonder would the fanbase be ready for a Sailor Moon series were Usagi is actually the Queen and Chibi-Usa was the new Sailor Moon? I wonder how much of an uproar their would be (and tears) if Usagi ended up like her mother and Chibi-Usa vowed for revenge.
No! Just no! :)

@sapphire91 Why not? Sasami in Tenchi Muyo got her own spin-off series, too. :keke:
Simply because she is not quite as popular and they kind a tested it with Supers. True if she is all grown up, she will be a different character, but I am not huge fan of series taking place in the distant future. I'd rather get that Sailor V spin-off.

If it were written by competent writers, have a visionary director and it involves very little executive meddling. Same thing with Parallel :usagi:.

You could make a spinoff (e.g. “Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas,“ or create a multiverse with alternate realities, e.g. “Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles”), but I feel that neither Naoko or TOEI is interested in further exploring the franchise.

The awakening of Sailor Uranus and Neptune would make a great spinoff—as would anything involving Sailor V or an original story taking place in the era of the Silver Millennium with Beryl as a human plotting against the people of the moon.

Heck, lots of fanfics would make great stories, but there is no interest in creating something new and the franchise feels as is now, stale.

I think Naoko is happy as a married woman and wife and doesn’t feel like working harder than she did when she conceived the series—and if that is the case her wish must be respected.

Go read “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clean Card”—it has over 40 chapters and it’s pretty good!

I love Hollic, I read Tsubasa and loved it. Sadly Sakura just don't intrigue me as much as the rest of Clamp works. I really wanted to watch the old show now that it has a 4k release. It looks gorgeous, the restauration is amazing. But I simply don't find it entertaining. Hollic I finished the anime in a weekend. Started the manga recently and it is so much better. I guess I should try harder with Sakura or jumo to the manga instead.

ChibiUsa wasn't popular at that time because of how they treated her character. Its hard to imagine but Chibi-Usa is Sailor Moon's successor. Man it would be so traumatic to lose Usagi being that the majority of people grew up with her. ChibiUsa could work in a spinoff series. Granted a much older/teen ChibiUsa. I think any kind of content that is new is needed to rejuvenate the series again. But yeah, Naoko is pretty much at a point in her life where she lived out exactly how Usagi did. I sont think anything new will be done with Sailor Moon unless she allows someone else to do it.

I like the second shot. A few people bring that moment up and say it’s bad but I think they look great there that whole sequence is beautiful. I think the only episodes that are truly questionable in season 3 are ep 10 and especially ep 11. The rest Look great especially 6 7 13.
Yeah, the second shot looks really nice in motion. The hair and clothes were really nicely animated in it.

The lack of spin-offs might be a blessing in disguise, I mean just look at how TOEI handles the ones for Saint Seiya. Santia Sho is one of the most horrible things I've ever had a displeasure of seeing! Hell, they can't even do the main Sailor Moon series properly, let alone a spin-off.

She had two and only one of them was good with Pretty Sammy while the other, Sasami: Magical Girls Club, was very boring.

Thankfully the guy responsible for most of that has stepped down so Saint Seiya's probably dead again outside of the current manga that are ongoing.

And yeah, sending Saintia Sho off to Gonzo was a mistake given most of their own stuff suffered the same problems that show did.

I did enjoy the magical girl elements of it, could have been better tho, agreed. I still enjoyed it for what it was tho. Not too familiar with the franchise, just heard of a new mahou shoujo series being aired. So I jumped to it to give it a watch.

While i agree with PreCure, i think Dragon Ball is sadly definition of safe, characters got regressed in personality, plot is either rehashed (Another tournamnet) or animated fanfiction (Freeza coming back, Evil Kaioshin creating Evil Goku) i wouldnt want SM to become such a mess :(
