Who says it's a joke?! Shingetsu's gone.

Haha, to answer your question, Sakuya, the main page layout was completely redone from scratch (that's our graphics whiz Andrea's doing). The crossed out Shingetsu logo on the other pages was just done in Photoshop...(that's my doing). I don't have a clue how Andrea creates her stuff, but I just wrote some text. That's all I know.

And to think! We whipped the whole thing together in 3 days! But it was three days of hard work, so we may keep it somewhere (since everyone is asking)...I can't believe people actually like the Shrine. I thought everyone would be pissed. -.-;; Haha, thank for having such a great sense of humor!

Actually, I was asking you how you made all the text so seamlessly in those magazine articles as well as your translated photobook? :oh:

I have a question about your translation on page 5 of volume 1 of the Photobook. It says, "Using the four generals of the Shitennou..." I had always thought that generals was an American adaptation-only term for those characters. Does this mean that they are actually generals? They are Shitennou ("kings," right?) and generals? I don't know Japanese, so I get confused. :?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! Okay, I'll tell you the secret: lots of hard work. I reconstruct those backgrounds manually, and it takes frickin' forever - about six hours per magazine scan, and three per photobook page. There is no secret, seriously, because I don't know any. I am a photoshop retard--all I know how to do is copy, paste, use the paint brush, smudge tool, eraser, and blending options. I make the paint brush really small and paint over the text with each individual section. If I get lazy, I'll just paint over it with a big brush and let it look bad (i.e. upper left corner of Ayaka Komatsu's scan). Sometimes, I use the copy and paste function and paste parts of the background picture onto the text, but I don't get that lucky usually (there is not sufficient background that would cover the text and let it still match up with the rest of the picture). The hardest part is the hair. >.<

So again, sorry...no valuable secrets.

As for the translations question--yes, generals was the English adapted term. However, they are NOT kings according to the Japanese version--only Endymion was king. The kanji for Shitennou means "The Four Kings," but the kanji for my last name (although I'm Korean, we also use kanji and call it hanmun) means "forest," and I'm not a tree either, am I? They were his guardians, the way the Senshi are Serenity's guardians. In that sense, I don't think it's much of a stretch to call them generals, considering they serve a sort of military function, but I suppose I understand the confusion. I used the word generals because it sounded better than "subordinates," which was what the actual word was...I guess I'll make a note about it if I ever find the time. ^^ Thanks for pointing it out though.

If those are all the questions...well, site's back to normal. ~sighs~

"Generals" is indeed a fan-created term that English-speaking people created.

Four Generals

They are generals in the sense that they serve a sort of military function, but the sailor soldiers could probably be called generals for the same reason. :D

Wonderful site! That April fools shrine to the Shibby was great. The best part was the diaries of George. The site looks great and I enjoy the spoilers.

Thank you, ICyRHap!

By the way, I have to ask, who's George and who are the pictures really of?
Um....George is the programmer and co-webmaster of ASMR (http://www.moonromance.net, our host). The pictures are of George. ^^

He and I have had a war going for a few years. The George Diaries were my revenge. On April Fools, he programmed the ASMR messageboards so that all text turned into l33t speak, and every post ended with "GEORGE RULES" or "NAE SMELLS!"

I think I got him pretty good. ^^
