i'd like to see them I would prefer seeing the subbed version but since they are showing that during the weekend it would be less likely that I would be off of work. Last time they showed the movie I would have had to drive an hour to see it but this year looks like they are showing it at the theater in my local mall.

As a heads up, I more than likely will not be able to catch the Viz dub of the S movie in theaters because, that same weekend, I will be going out of town for a family get-together. I will be back the day before the Viz subbed version plays in theaters, but I don't know if I'd wanna go out and catch a viewing of it after a long drive back home.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd be willing to go see either the S or SuperS movies, dubbed or subbed, in theaters anyway since the R movie is my favorite of the three and I liked it enough to want to go see its dubbed version in theaters (twice!). Whereas the S and SuperS movies, while still entertaining, don't grab me as much as the R movie does, and I know that their Blu-Ray/DVD releases will be out at some point afterward anyway, so I'm just not sure if I'm willing to check out either movie in theaters if I don't have as strong a desire to see them as I did for the R movie.

I wonder why the same actors are doubling in the SuperS movie and in the Ami special. Maybe they had a short budget for the dub?

You do know that actors playing multiple roles is a frequent thing in anime voice acting (and in voice acting in general), right?

I mean, if they have the capable talent, why not use them?

I'm from Brazil, so I'm not used to voice actors playing two or more characters with considerable amounts of speaking parts in the same movie.
I thought that didn't happen in the Viz dub as well, for some reason.

Oh it happens in the Viz dub quite a bit. It was obvious when Lucien Dodge voiced both Zoisite and Motoki in the same scene talking to each other. Zoisite just sounded like a flamboyant version of Motoki. Also the main cast doubles as many monsters or characters-of-the-day. Veronica Taylor voices both Setsuna and Unazuki (who also shared a voice in the DiC dub, Sabrina Grdevich). The original dub actually had less of that.

I'm excited about Colleen playing Perle in the SuperS movie having grown up hearing her as Sora in Digimon which is another one of my childhood favorite anime shows.

I'm glad that they actually, finally(!), cast a woman to play a young boy character in this dub instead of continuing the curse of man-voiced boys that both Shingo and Kyusuke suffered in this dub.

Isn't the voice director from 4kids? They liked to cast male actors as kids alot... Is there a backed up stream of the SM AX panel?

4Kids varied on which gender adult usually voiced boy characters. In particular, Ash from Pokemon, Chris from Sonic X, and Luffy from One Piece (which 4Kids dubbed before FUNimation took over) were all voiced by women, while the likes of Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yoh from Shaman King, and other boy characters from Pokemon were all voiced by men.

Which makes it more ironic because it's Chris' VA who has been directing Sailor Moon.

Suzanne Goldish worked as an ADR engineer for 4Kids (and occasional voice actor), but never directed any dubs for them.

Fun fact: both 4Kids and FUNimation wanted to cast men as Luffy (I know Eric Vale was their first choice for Luffy), but Toei demanded otherwise. Yugi was voiced by a male in the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! too (except for "Season 0," which 4Kids never got).

I'm really curious how the Starlights will be cast. Some foreign dubs have both male and female voices, depending on which form they're in. Maybe they'll cast women who are just really good at voicing men (like Mona Marshall). They're very tricky characters to cast.

This is what I want for them, including that actress as one of them.
