I was in China and watched the Chinese dub version, season 1 was great other than some of the lines weren't translated well/censored, Mamoru and Beryl's Chinese VA were the best.

Season 2 got a lot of censorship and many VA were changed, it wasn't as good as season 1.

3-5 weren't imported. I had to wait till many years later and watched them online.

I watched the very first episode the very first time it aired in Portugal on the TV station SIC. It aired right after school so I always had to run home to be able to watch it. Then it started airing Sunday morning but I was at church... Probably one of the things that made me detest religion so much.

Unrelated question, but did the European Portuguese dub ever sound weird to you? I tried listening to it and the voices sounded...overly exaggerated, especially Luna. Maybe it's because I'm more familiar with Brazilian Portuguese.

They indeed go a little bit overboard most of the time, there is a lot more screaming. And sometimes they took artistic liberties, they would make allusions to portuguese shows and portuguese actors. I can't help but laugh with so much tomfoolery going around. They even did that in more serious episodes.

I first saw it when my uncle had those Buena Vista tapes, I also caught a glimpse of WB11 having it in South Jersey (however improbable it may sound, WPIX could reach south jersey via cable.)
I'm from up north and I can believe this since I used to visit family of friends down there a few times in the late 90s and remember when New York City radio stations still being on while in Burlington County on 206 (though with heavier static than usual since they were switching to Philadelphia's stations the further we drove down on the way to Cumberland County).

I have flashbacks of me watching Sailor Stars with my older sister when it first aired in Italy(I was around 2 years old at the time) but I properly became a fan only years later thanks to reruns and my older cousin's home-recorded VHS.

I'm originally from as south of South Jersey as can be, Cape May County.
