Blocked by Viz so I had to download it to watch, but 1) Why does Beryl sound like a dying cat? 2) Why is there no background music? It makes the entire scene so awkward and dull. 3) Luna sounds like a ninety year old woman who smokes ten packs a day.
Sadly a lot of dubs has removed background music in the show. I guess they couldn't afford it.

Unfortunately, most international dubs did not include most of the insert songs. It seems Toei never gave them the proper masters, leaving dubbers to remove songs all together or replace them with other music. Try watching episode 68 without Aino Senshi, it's terrible.

More than likey either Toei didn’t gave masters with the insert songs or the dub removed them because of the Japanese singing and didn’t have time/budget for a replacement.

Far as I can tell the Indonesian dub otherwise kept the Japanese music including the instrumental for Moonlight Densetsu.

The whole “animes have separate license for their music” is by and large a myth people perpetuate to excuse the practice of replacement scores.

A similar thing happened in Funimation’s dub of Dragon Ball. Most of the insert songs (all but 2 I believe) didn’t appear despite the dub otherwise keeping the Japanese music intact and apparently this was similar across the board to most of its international dubs.

So weird. Surely the dub company had some generic stock music they could have thrown in at the very least. /shrug/

All I'll say is Portuguese Yaten and Indonesian Luna have given me new appreciation for the Viz cast

There was an atrocious Luna, I am not sure if it was in the Portuguese or Brazil dub that will make you love the Viz one. :D

Sadly I cannot find her, but the glorious Portuguese dub for Starlights is so fun. Yaten is bad, but Seita is priceless, I hope this is actually some fandub.
- Poor Seiya

Sailo Moon has been a victim of bad dubs in so many countries. The only two I happen to like are German and Hebrew, the latter mainly for the wonderful versions they did of most of the songs. I don't know a word in Hebrew, so I don't know if the lyrics has anything to do with the original. but I always respect a dub that tries to do that. And Hebrew is so exotic.

It's a nice cover, but WHAT is going on with that credits sequence? Such a bizarre mash-up of random scenes from the different seasons.... I'm guessing they didn't get a text-free version of the opening footage so they weirdly chose to cover up the Japanese text with random other footage???

With Sousuke Sagara
Honestly, Artemis and Luna being linked under "friendship" makes me not worry too much about Haruka and Michiru's label. Poor Setsuna and Hotaru being in their lonesome LOL

Has anyone heard any details about Viz's issue with the romaji in the booklet?
VIZ | SAILOR MOON Season 5 Set 1 Statement

I gave my booklet a quick glance and didn't find any jarring issues, but I didn't really compare the lyrics side by side with google or anything.
I heard that song lyrics romaji error was with the lyrics for the Sailor Star Song. That's what someone in Facebook said anyway.

Wow OK so they're really going through with this reprinting booklet thing... At least they're owning up to it with this release. I'm kind of shocked because they didn't do anything about the "TBA" cast in the SuperS booklet.

But are they going to change Luna and Artemis's relationship marker and fix the "Tuxedo Kamen" and "Alluminum Siren" errors as well?
