Lets say by some chance Sailor Moon gets an actual revival that doesnt involve retelling the same 5 seasons we've seen countless times...

What do you think that season/stories would look like? Where does Sailor Moon the series go after having to battle one of their own? And in the Manga, THE Chaos of it all? How do you top that?

It would take a new enemy, but it would be difficult to put in place. Seeing that she was facing the very source of evil in the '90s series.
Sailor Chaos, I put her in Chaos Galaxia (since at that moment, it is only Chaos and not Galaxia) and putting him back as an enemy would be too boring.

After you really have to see. Or a series on Crystal Tokyo.

I’ve said this before, but I’m pretty sure that a sequel to Sailor Moon would involve alternate dimensions and timelines. We’ve had villains from the past, future, other planets and from the center of the galaxy, I think the next logical step would be one from a parallel universe.

There’s so many possibilities with that idea too. You can have different versions of Sailor Moon from alternate universes appear. Or have the Sailor Guardians fight against their counterparts from a darker timeline.

Plus if Toei wants to go for a more nostalgia-baiting route, they can have alternate universe versions of the previous villains appear and team-up together.

A rift in space-time transplants Usagi in a parallel reality where things have gone quite differently. Can she restore peace to this alternate dimension and make her way back to the reality she calls home?

Another possibility would be a season that's entirely geocentric. So far all the villains have been from outer space (or Earthlings under some extraterrestrial's influence); what if this time, Sailor Moon and co. had to fight villains who were 100% Earth humans? And instead of being stuck in Japan or exploring outer space, this time they got to travel around the world, something that's really only ever happened in the Sailor V manga and the Dracul musicals so far.

And at some point we'd have to get Zodiac Sailor Guardians.

It really depends. If we're talking about manga we could see an enemy that just wasnt a part of the chaos we've met in Stars. I mean think for a second: simply because Chaos was defeated does that mean that evil people dont exist anymore? That evil spirist are gone? That no other strong evil entity cant appear? There's so many different ideas. For example pretty much every enemy was going after Silver Crystal as a source of power. What if an enemy appeared that didnt want Silver Crystal? Wasnt interested in it at all? And instead would see SM as an obtacle after she would keep interfering in his/hers plotting

As for the 90s anime there' still so much unfinished buisness like the quartet, senshi eternal forms, castles etc

They could also do a series based on Another Story and include Dream and Stars in it. That game mixed manga and anime in such a cool way so such a unique series could be really huge

Stars will essentially conclude a saga that started with Crystal way back in 2014.

If we’re given something new after Stars, great, but I am not keeping my expectations high.

Yes to a timeline that's like Another Story. The way it wove multiple sets of enemies and allies together was so cool. It'd mean all the senshi would be involved, too, not just Inners/Outers/Starlights.

Other than that, maybe a series about ChibiMoon facing her first threat? She didn't defeat Chaos herself, so she still has some learning to do. Though admittedly I like this idea less than the Another Story one. (Mostly due to the Quartet.)

For Sailor Moon's future i have compiled the following ideas:

Note that these ideas only expand on the lore so i will keep my ideas for other adaptations of the existing material for another thread:

- As previously mentioned, Another Story deserves its own adaptation either as a movie or series format. The good thing with Another Story is that it has its own plot and only draws material from SM Classic, R, S so the lore of SuperS and Sailor Stars can be added to this one. The Senshi should get new power ups though. (Maybe Princess Sailor Moon and Eternal Senshi)

- A Sailor Wars series featuring 2 or 3 part stories from all the Sailor Moon timelines such as Silver Millennium, Crystal Tokyo and other planets during the present. The series could begin with the origins of the Moon Kingdom and end with Usagi creating Crystal Tokyo. For the rest of the series we could see the origins of the Starlights, Sailor Galaxia and her battle with Chaos, the Animamates Stories, the awakening of the outers, or Setsuna's arrival on Earth.

- Finally I would love a Spider-Versy type of Sailor Moon story, featuring different incarnations of Sailor Moon such as Naoko's prototype designs coming from an alternate dimension, but with toei I don't expect anything high concept.

I fear that at best we'll get a "back to basics" story like Dragonball GT.

Ok so we have had different motifs for each season.

Dark Kingdom: Sailor Moon vs Enemy from Past Life (Setting the Foundations/Reincarnation)
Black Moon: Sailor Moon vs Future Time Terrorists (Time)
Infinity: Sailor Moon vs Mad Scientist (Science)
Dead Moon Circus: Sailor Moon vs Circus and the Dark Moon.
Stars: Sailor Moon vs Sailor Senshi and the Galaxy.

I think for me something I would like to see would be based on an alternate universe. Sailor Moon finds out there's a parallel universe where she is the main evil due to Chaos's/Queen Metalia's influence and that her evil self is trying to conquer worlds. If you are Power Rangers Comic Fans think Lord Drakkon (Evil Tommy).

With Netflix involved it might take itself too seriously. ^_^'

I'm watching Transformers War For Cybertron with its 2 chapters already and it takes itself too seriously and this is rated 7+. There's stabbing and heads getting blown off. XD

While it's entertaining I feel like the music gives this feeling it's at war. I'm missing those bumpers they had when switcing scenes in the 80's. XD

But there's also a Netflix original with Fate Last Encore which had a Utena feel to it while being somewhat like an isekai anime.

Would be the perfect time to introduce a Princess Sailor Moon whose evil.

Lol if only we were so lucky for a darker SM. I think it'd be in the same vain as Voltron or likely She-Ra.

One of the new seasons would inevitably have to revolve around Usagi's ascension to the throne. We know from the future of Chibiusa that it will come to that.

Put that aside, I see the greatest potential in alternate universes, as @Seira Hazuki pointed out. I would want to avoid the trope of goatee-bearing bad twins here. I think it would be more interesting if their senshis were as righteous as ours. Only the problem is that both universes threaten to collide and only one can survive by wiping out the other. A kind of prisoner's dilemma as staged by the Joker in The Dark Knight, only that here the universes themselves would push the fuse.

@Thexall They're girls, so how high do you calculate the propability of that, anyway? Only if it's like South Park's take on the "Mirror, Mirror" concept with fake costume beards, maybe.

Only the problem is that both Universes threaten to collide and only one can survive by wiping out the other.
'Cos one would be Matter and the other Anti-Matter? :ami:

P. S.: And why 'neccesarily' wiping e. o. out? How about 'fusing' like in "Avengers - Endgame" or "Infinite Crisis Crossover"?

My point is, that your twin from an another Universe doesn't have necessarly to be evil.
Nope, only of an alternate Colour Scheme, as Futurama taught us. :keke: Bender Robs Bender by Maxtis on DeviantArt

Ha reminds me of this fanart.:)

But seriously this idea has a lot of potential like manga Sailor Moon meeting Kousagi an amazing daughter she will never have because she can only have one kid, a world where instead of Usagi being the princess it's Ami
Spoiler: show

A world where Usagi are Rei had each other lives(manga)

Or a world where they're normal teenage girls but some of their past foes are the Sailor Guardians here, the ideas are endless.

Aside from the mulitverse/parallel universe idea, I think there's also one character that has never been developed in any one single Sailor Moon adaptation despite having such a pivitol role in the series. Queen Serenity.

With the existence of the Galaxy Cauldron, it always struck me as a missed opportunity that we never saw her resurrected and living a normal life on Earth. A sequel story could reintroduce her into the story, but also give her a civilian identity possibly a senshi form (the original Sailor Moon or a Sailor Selene perhaps) and maybe even her own team of senshi.

There's also so much potential for drama... How would Usagi react learning that her Silver Millennium mother was reincarnated all this time? Would a reincarnated Queen Serenity approve of Usagi taking the throne as the next Queen of the Silver Millennium?
