As the universe is supposed to have an infinite number of Senshi, Sailor Moon could very well be Precurized & run for eternity. lol
Sorry if there are fans of PreCure here, but I really hope not. Eternal Sailor Moon is gaudy enough as it is, imagine all that times 5 girls (at minimum)? The tackiness of the Sailor Cure's designs would make the world implode.

Hmm... what if instead of a new cast every season, the Inner senshi did die as Naoko intended them to in the first arc ....and we'd get a new set every season afterwards? For example, R/BM could've had Chibiusa and Pluto as Sailors, S/Infinity Pluto, Uranus, Saturn and Neptune, SuperS/Dream having the Quartet and Stars having a larger focus in traveling to planets and also meeting their senshi + Galaxia's minions?
That scares me. Though the last two episodes of Season 1 really puts a lot of other magical girls to shame. Even Puella. We spend 40+ episodes in Sailor Moon of love and Justice and happy go lucky bonding and team power fights then watch them all get slaughtered one by one finally ending with our main protagonist killing her boyfriend, then dying herself. If it wasn't for the Silver Crystal reset, this would have been an emotionally damaging anime for kids to watch. I still find the last two episodes of Classic raw. Imagine Ami getting roasted alive inside an orb until she eventually dies. Minako getting her torso crushed and yanked around like a toy or even crazier, Queen B telling a possessed Mamoru to chop off Usagi's head...and he actually tries to do it with NO hesitation... The insanity of the last two episodes are on 100%.

^ But it’d be such a compelling show if it fully ran with some of the darker aspects of the series! Not that everything has to be dark and edgy, but the idea of Sailor Moon ascending to be the queen of the restored Silver Millennium all by herself is so poignant. I’d love something of an alternate continuity to explore the ideas that Naoko had to discard

Then who's gonna stop Uranus and Neptune from killing Saturn then? Maybe it's different in the manga, but I really don't feel like the S season would work out too well in that regard.

Who's to say someone would have had to stop Uranus and Neptune (and Pluto?) from killing Saturn. Maybe in this hypothetical alternative version of S/Infinity, Saturn truly would be evil and need to be defeated.
Ooh... so they'd have played it straight in that case? That does sound like it could be good. Or maybe kill Saturn off and still have Hotary being reborn. The rest of the Outers though... I wouldn't know if to kill them or not, lol. Pluto has different incarnations so I could imagine her staying alive. Chibiusa would live because of the next arc. Maybe I'd kill Prof Tomoe and Haruka and Michiru would still adopt Saturn.

Not exactly new Senshi, but different versions of her (i.e. her R, S, & Stars versions w/ the different skin tones & other differences in their looks) could fight alongside each other. :D

I meant reincarnations xD But I like this idea! I actually draw the Pluto from R differently than the one from Infinity/S

There are at least two Plutos, after all: the Eternal Sailor Pluto we see in our present, and the Super Sailor Pluto we see in Crystal Tokyo in the Stars arc. Bring on the Crisis of Infinite Plutos.
Just give Pluto her own series, with several Plutos and an evil Pluto that would be the villain/homewrecker that Setsuna could be (but isn't).

The different versions of her could still be her different reincarnations originally living in different spacetimes but somehow coming together in the same spacetime for a common purpose. Also, those different versions/incarnations could be at different ages of her - from lil child, tweenie, early teen, late teen, young adult to fully mature woman, hence forming a team. While fighting together as teammates, they could also have arguments among themselves due to their being at different life stages of her. Their different personalities would also be caused by their having lived & grown up in the (very) different physical &/or social/cultural environments of their respective spacetimes of origin. :D

Especially with those legs, and that hair.
She could steal both Endymion & Chibiusa from Serenity, stage a coup to replace Serenity by herself, & then banish Serenity to the Space-Time Door. :mischief:
