Worst thing Crystal did?

I've finished rewatching the reboot.

I must say... I like season III more than the Death Busters arc in the manga. It's fine, really good at some points, despite the character designs.

But I insist. As a whole the manga is better, it's got more power, more energy, atmosphere, more characterisation.

To me Crysternal isn't even faithful to the source material. It lacks nuances! Nuances are important in the manga. However in this rewatch I witnessed no animation in the first two arcs, a clunky one in Eternal, terrible subplots, repetitive & bland OST (especially in Eternal), an impersonal style, it copied panels of the manga leaving the essence and the ethereal Takeuchi's intentions out. To sum it up, an inferior product. I'd rather recommend the manga to anyone interested in getting into SM.

I think this kind of sums it up for me. For whatever flaws the 90s anime and PGSM (and the musicals but I haven't seen those) may have, they're their own thing. Crysternal is just an inferior version of the manga in animation. Anything Crysternal does, the manga did way better. Where as the 90s anime played out some things better and fleshed out the villains better and PGSM did a better job with Usagi and Mamoru's relationship development.

No arguments there! PGSM has my favorite version of the Guardian Deities, I enjoyed their character arcs.

It looks messy and amateur. It amazes me that an adaptation managed to do worse

I would rather have Discotek get it, a 2-disc SD Blu-ray set would be much better than 8-9 DVDs and by 2 discs, I mean if they get the special episodes and extras, if not then 1 disc is fine since they have fit that many episodes before and look fine.

(^56 episodes + extras including a 9-minute short film = Almost 24 hours on 1 disc)

They also have their own toku releases, one of which is Cutie Honey: The Live and that set is also loaded in addition to being in HD as originally broadcast.

Other toku releases include Star Fleet (with the Japanese X Bomber series exclusive to the SD Blu-ray set), Message from Space: Galactic Wars, Megabeast Investigator Juspion (the fourth of Toei's Metal Hero series) and coming in October as part of a new toku-centric label they just started up, Space Sheriff Gavan.

PGSM never made it out of Japan... Toei didn't upload it on their tokusatsu channel. It's not even mentioned in the Museum exposition. No reruns in Japan almost 20 years after. Why do you guys even think it's available for overseas licensing?

No no, I meant I totally forgot the film Sailor Moon Eternal. I thought I was the name for Crystal season 5.

It‘s maybe not the worst thing Crystal did but graphic design of signs/posters/flyers in Crystal sucks. From the discount advertisement at Naru‘s mom‘s jewellery in eps.1 to the „Dead Moon Circus“ banner in Eternal. Looks all so boring and uninspired. I like how SuperS gave them that art deco logo (that had a little cameo in Eternal).

I see your point, Toei saw PGSM as a failure , an "old shame", to quote TV Tropes.
