I've finished rewatching the reboot.
I must say... I like season III more than the Death Busters arc in the manga. It's fine, really good at some points, despite the character designs.
But I insist. As a whole the manga is better, it's got more power, more energy, atmosphere, more characterisation.
To me Crysternal isn't even faithful to the source material. It lacks nuances! Nuances are important in the manga. However in this rewatch I witnessed no animation in the first two arcs, a clunky one in Eternal, terrible subplots, repetitive & bland OST (especially in Eternal), an impersonal style, it copied panels of the manga leaving the essence and the ethereal Takeuchi's intentions out. To sum it up, an inferior product. I'd rather recommend the manga to anyone interested in getting into SM.
