And anything positive?

:wow: Not even bad animation crying Boruto can compete with that.

TOEI deserves lots and lots of :cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie: for making such a legendary meme in meme lord history.

And anything positive?

It's been almost a decade since S1/S2 premiere. The series has settled and maybe it's time to reappraise it and find something positive. For instance, I find episode 16 better than the manga one, in terms of Ami's character. And the action scenes were not bad at all.
This was an example of a good expansion that they did and what Crystal needed more of. …Not whatever that Senshi/Shittenou subplot was supposed to be.

This deserves its own thread. Best thing Crystal did.

The Moon Pride MV was also a thing of beauty and what the whole series should’ve resembled.
I absolutely love the music video for "Moon Pride"! It's such a shame the ONA ended up having underwhelming animation.

The Eternal outfits that Naoko designed for Tamegai including the ones for other Senshi that were supposed to appear in the 90s anime that appeared in Sailor Moon Eternal and Cosmos are difficult to animate, while her design for the manga of the Eternal outfits have no wrist ribons, she makes the lives of animators hard there and that design is not even in the manga.

I've finished rewatching the reboot.

I must say... I like season III more than the Death Busters arc in the manga. It's fine, really good at some points, despite the character designs.

But I insist. As a whole the manga is better, it's got more power, more energy, atmosphere, more characterisation.

To me Crysternal isn't even faithful to the source material. It lacks nuances! Nuances are important in the manga. However in this rewatch I witnessed no animation in the first two arcs, a clunky one in Eternal, terrible subplots, repetitive & bland OST (especially in Eternal), an impersonal style, it copied panels of the manga leaving the essence and the ethereal Takeuchi's intentions out. To sum it up, an inferior product. I'd rather recommend the manga to anyone interested in getting into SM.

My main issue in Season III is the spamming of stock footage. Not even in the '90s was it spammed so hard.
It was not so bad on the first watch-through, but subsequent watches are torture when they all transform every episode. Thank goodness we can fast forward through it. (I do love the transformations, but they get old fast when you line them all up every episode).

I think they already skipped the transformation since episode 7 (Cyprine episode)? The later ones just have Super Sailor Moon (although it's ugly).
