Mio's really that hated generally? I was under the impression that she was one of those hammy and entertainingly evil "love-to-hate" kinds of characters.

From what I read on the forums at the time, she was really being hated w/ a passion by many fans, tho I personally do have that same impression you mentioned. :)

@sailorvenusfan: I guess it would depend on the region. If you're American, yes, that is a popular opinion. If you're Japanese, where Rini is generally well-liked, yeah, you'd be in the minority.

@Rika: Ah. I guess that makes sense. When you're really into the characters that have been on the show from the start and this really mean monster-lady starts jerking them around, I can see why they would have that reaction. I just look at Mio the way I look at Disney villains. They're evil, undeniably, but man if they aren't fun! Heck, I also look at PGSM Beryl that way. I love her sassy attitude.

Thx to her awesome actress, PGSM Beryl is an uber cool villainess in my book.

Anyone loves Sailor Luna here? XD (I don't, but I don't hate her either.)

I am fairly ambivalent toward Sailor Luna. I thought she was a weird addition, but fairly harmless. Besides, I loved her encounter with Shingo and his dumb-founded reaction to her.

I think Sailor Luna looks cute - I used to have the Bandai doll of her, but I sold it long ago when I got more interested in cels than dolls. I never really minded Sailor Luna being in the series. =^_^=

I think the character and portrayal of Sailor Luna in PGSM was executed very competently and very respectful to the character of Luna. It's only the idea of the character, being a child and all, that wasn't that great.

Sailor Moon S is stupid. Look at our dark serious story about the apocalypse juxtaposed with the dumbest goofiest monsters ever.

I think this is what people have a problem with more than Sailor Luna in and of herself. Why can't Luna ever be portrayed as a full grown woman?

She was never one to begin with. Luna's meant to be one age below Usagi, she's just so much more mature than Usagi that she only seems older (the dub voice also doesn't help, either).

And how come you respelled my name?

Sorry, I didn't mean to press that unneeded "e". But anyway, Luna is adult-sized when in cat form, so her being a child in human form just makes no sense to me.

Technically a teenager rather than a child (which is what Diana's human form is).

I still wish that Luna was portrayed as a teenager rather then a child. This was really an attempt to cash in on Chibi Moon's popularity without including her. Personally if they were going to add a new senshi to the show I think it should have been Hina as Sailor Sun.

Who as what now? There was a Sailor Sun? Explain this.
She's referring to a PGSM-only character whose name is a reference to the Sun, and how Maria wishes she had become a Senshi character that doesn't currently exist.
