Eternal Sailor Moon's fuku is ugly. Taking away the bubble sleeves and replacing them with something else (something like Princess Sailor Moon or an amped up SSM sleeve) and changing the colors would improve it drastically, removing the wings makes it even better. Sad because minus the sleeves/color scheme/wings I think the design is actually gorgeous.
Is that actually an unpopular opinion? :P

I actually would like to hear them - it's a breath of fresh air from popular 'safe' opinions
I think the manga is boring
Not that big a fan of Naoko's art style
I think Stars is one of the best seasons
I don't really like S that much
I really don't like Haruka and Michiru like almost at all they are jerks to the inners and the Starlights
I like the Starlights
Especially Seiya who I think is great
I don't care about the musicals
Wasn't that into PGSM
To this day I love the Dic dub
Not crazy about the Viz dub
I think Jerky anime Mamoru is the best Mamoru

I hate this fuku too!
It’s just so ...clunky and overdesigned. Looking at the Eternal fuku next to Cosmos’ is ...unfortunate.

Usagi and Mamoru’s relationship is gross and creepy. It’s slightly better in the manga when at least the age gap is 3 year though in real life I would raise an eye brow at a 17 year old dating a middle schooler

I like the DiC dub

Heart in Ice is the best Sailor Moon movie.

I like British nanny Luna better

I liked Sailor Says both for its awful messages, its really reaching messages, and its occasionally genuine good message

I used to think this back in the 90s but the costume has grown on me over the years. It is very busy tho...

@blondibear_17 I agree with mostly all these opinions. As much I love the manga, it can get rather boring at times. Espiecially due how expository the manga is. S (Super) is a good season, I never understood why it was rated so highly. It has its strong and weak points. The best aspect of the DiC English dub is how distinct the voices are. Another good aspect is that the DiC dub was localized so the names of the Sailor Soldiers are easier to pronounce.

Their Japanese names aren't exactly hard to pronounce.

Although I did mispronounce Usagi's name for the longest time when I was only reading about the Japanese sub. but once I started watching the subs via ADV I was able to pick up the proper pronunciation after the first time hearing it.

If you can learn how to pronounce Tchaikovsky and Michelangelo and Dostoyevsky you can learn how to pronounce Usagi.
No offense, but does n t that really depends on the person? When I first watch anime. I couldn't pronounce and learn the names at all. Most of the time I refer them to their dub names or gave them vague descriptions. (Like the girls with pigtails.refer to Chiyo chan) My point is can be hard to learn names especially if its from a foreign country

It can be. But as I said, if someone can learn to say "Tchaikovsky" without butchering it, they most certainly can learn to say the comparatively much simpler "Makoto." If you're not willing to make the effort, that's another thing entirely.

I actually agree with Kerochan most of the Sailor Moon names if practiced and learned aren't that difficult to pronounce. If we can learn how to pronounce complex and even foreign European names then Sailor Moon names shouldn't be an issue most of them aren't even that difficult anyway. I mean when I first saw some anime that kept the Japanese names of their characters like Tenchi Muyo and Yu Yu Hakusho I really had no issues with pronouncing the characters names,

But it is easy to mispronounce Japanese.

Yeah certain English words can be hard to pronounce as well even for native speakers. Plus I have known alot of non native speakers who sometimes mispronounce English words so I don't think that English pronunciation is easier then say any other language out there.

Is it really that easy to mispronounce Japanese? Like I'd assume that Japanese would be one of the easier languages to learn how to pronounce things correctly. (Not talking about actually learning the language but like reading and saying people's names or the names of cities and stuff)

For native English speakers not knowing about the language, some Japanese words could be mispronounced in English-like ways, but that's not unique for Japanese, but for other languages as well. :)

I guess in the context of this thread, the opinion that pronouncing Japanese names is hard is an unpopular one.

I'll share a few unpopular opinions of my own that have not already been shared as far as I know.

  • While I like the attempts of Sailor Moon media to expand on Queen Beryl's backstory and think some are very well done, I personally prefer the barebones version of the original anime. The idea that Beryl, even if portrayed sympathetically, turned to the dark side largely due to her love of Endymion annoys me because in the end, it cheapens Beryl's motivations. I preferred some of the really old fan theories that Beryl was a Moon Kingdom exile (I distinctly remember one very old fanfic that she was Queen Serenity's jealous sister.)
  • Masahiro Ando's animation models in the 90's anime were off-model, but the actual animation and direction in the episodes themselves were good.
  • The manga Black Moon Clan was an evil, terroristic death cult...but their members were strawmen with a valid point; giving humanity a 1,000 year life span probably did stagnate society and humanity's potential. It was my opinion that their cause was right, even if they way they went about it was inexcusable.
  • I don't like that in the manga and other media, the Amazoness Quartet are Sailor Chibi-Moon's guardians. I would have preferred it if she had no guardians, since she herself just awakened as a Guardian...in the future.
  • For all of SuperS's faults, I enjoyed how it did try to call back to first and second season elements in terms of the plots of its episodes.
  • I believe all of the filler of 90's anime Sailor Moon was better than any of the plot-advancing episodes. I don't hate the plot advancing episodes; I just like the filler episodes more.
