I wonder why they never put the edited S and SuperS dubs on DVD?
On top of what Umino said I think Pioneer wanted to take full advantage of DVDs billingual capabilities which couldn't be put to good use on edited only releases.

Pretty sure Funimation also only released their billingual uncut stuff on DVD for their Dragon Ball shows and the edited versions were reserved only for VHS

The only exceptions were with DBZ movies 4-9 and with all of Yu Yu Hakusho where both versions were released on separate discs at the same time and the same was supposed to happen to the GT TV special but then the edited disc got cancelled.

Aside from musical changes (cues and songs), I don't recall the differences between the edited and uncut S/SuperS dubs, but similar to the SMR:TM DVD release from Geneon/Pioneer featuring "The Power Of Love" as a bonus feature, they could have done the same with the english version of "Ai No Senshi" and other scenes as well.

What the others said + it would have been confusing...unless they released the edited S/SuperS dub first followed by an uncut boxset.

The only musical change between the edited and uncut versions was Aino Senshi in episode 102. The rest of the music is the same in both versions.

Okay.

For some reason, I thought the edited episodes may have also had some DiC music cues as well, but again, I don't recall.

Fun fact: The only VHS tape that I've ever had for the Cloverway dub just happens to be the one with episode 102 on it. lol

That's a very sought after one to find!

You might've also mixed up the movies releases. The edited versions had some DIC music, while the uncut versions used the original music (except the Moonlight Densetsu was switched out for the English theme song.)

No, that I am aware of.

I have the movies on both DVD and VHS.

Technically the Tanoshii Youchien and Otomodachi manga are lost media, though our pal @MementoNepenthe has been doing a great job preserving them for us.

The Optimum dub is constantly on the verge of being lost media, and probably will be within the next decade.

There are plenty of commercials that are considered lost media. There are little to no recordings of YTV Promos.
It's not lost meadia .You can find it on any site that has the old dub.

Good luck on trying to do that. I just hope it CAN be saved. We already lost the original masters of the DIC Dub and it'd be a shame if the Optimum Dub suffered the same fate
Well cloverway dub is still on a website.I can save it, and search for better quality.
