Inspired in part by snk777's poll about Takagi Nao, I thought it would be nice to have a topic where all the would-be casting directors among us can give their opinions on what actors they'd like to see in a role if the live action series were to extend beyond the Dark Kingdom Arc.

Yes, I know this is jumping the gun (hence the title ), but gosh darnit, it's fun trying to pick people for roles!

Just dropping some suggestions to start off with:

Uranus
- Takahashi Reiko: I simply ran across her profile page, but from the picture of her there, she seems to have a bit of a boyish look to her I think would fit well.

Neptune
- Seto Saki: From the same company as Takahashi. She has sort of an elegant beauty, IMHO, which would be good for Michiru.

Saturn
- Maruyama Chisa: This one I mentioned before in another thread. I'm mentioning it again, because I still think she'd be perfect for the role.

If you've got any ideas yourself, please post them! I'd like to know I'm not the only one who does this. ^^;;

Chisa and Saki would be perfect. Saki looks gorgeous and would make a perfect Neptune. But Reiko, we have to see her acting first. Just remember, Reiko has to act like a male and female is this show (if we are going by the manga). That why Nao Takagi could be perfect or some girl that can be manly. ^.~

Where is Pluto. We can always have Yuhko Hosoko (the sixth Pluto in the musical). She will be about 28 years old this year. They may just cast someone in their 20s or 30s Pluto because she is tall but yet elegant and
wise (or mature). I don't see a 16-19 year old playing the part.

I agree that Pluto should be played by someone in her 20s. I was thinking maybe Kobashi Megumi, but then she didn't quite have that Pluto vibe (whatever that is ) so I didn't list her the first time.

I can see Hosaka Yuuko (or Yuhko, depending on your romanization preferences) as Pluto. I think, just from looking at pictures, that out of all the Musical actresses who played the role, Hosaka fits it best.

Of course, I hope these people would have acting ability, but I've no way to know at the moment, so I'm just going by who I think is a nice physical match.

The girl for Neptune would be great as would the girl for Saturn - she looks perfect. I'm very iffy on the uranus though. I think Uranus should have a more handsome face. This girl looks boyish but not in a good looking way.

Yeah, I have to agree on Neptune and Saturn being cast by those ladies. They are a perfect for the roles. The Uranus one, hmm...it looks like she could play it, but if no other girl can be found, then I would be satisfied with her.

For the millionth time people, PLUTO IS NOT BLACK! (I'm not trying to be racist) she is a ganga girl (or ganguro) it's a style of anime (or some pe ople actually do this too) of girls with tan skin and white: Hair, make up, clothing, or eyes. But in pluto's case it's just the skin

Hey...it was only a show of pride for my ethnic colour Besides, Pluto should be tan.... I once saw this Drama with this girl who was really dark-tanned. I said to myself, "THAT SHOULD BE THE NEW PLUTO!"

Urg. I'm insane. Is it a problem if she is light-skinned Black and native Japanese o_O?

The girl that you wanted to play Saturn fits best! Her eyes is round and definitely reminds me of Hotaru's eyes in the anime! And I also agree with Yuuko as Pluto, only her skin is not dark enough.

I like the choices for Michiru and Hotaru...but that suggestion for Haruka just...doesn't fit my metal image of her, nor does it fit the anime/musical interpretation. She looks a little weird to me, actually. Casting the Outers will be a difficult process indeed, because they're more intense than the Inners, in my opinion.

But...I guess time and ratings will tell us if there will even NEED to be any speculation on who will be Uranus or any of the others.

QueenNepy, do you remember what drama it was or what it was about? I'm curious, and want to see if I can do a little digging to find out what actress it was. It's really hard to find a tanned Japanese actress or model because pale skin is preferred. For that reason, I think Pluto is one of the harder ones to cast.

Then there's Uranus, who is extremely hard (I think). Basically, the ideal Uranus is a girl who looks like a pretty boy. ^^;;; So, they need to find a girl who looks like a boy who looks like a girl.

Here's a crazy thought, if they do the Black Moon story, maybe they could get Kawasaki Mao to play as Black Lady? (She has the part in Ankoku no Princess Black Lady)

I agree, Uranus should be a pretty boy type. The sort where you could be confused by an almost androgenous but attractive and handsome but pretty person.

Oh, if such a person could exist and have good acting ability!

She's a model, actually, but is going to be in the live action version of Devilman. Haha, not like she'd actually agree to be in PGSM, but I just wanted to put her down for the heck of it.

As I drink from this cup of orange juice full of pulp, I look at these pictures. She would make a great Haruka if she got some gel in her hair! However, I'm worrying if the haircut to resemble Haruka would expose some feminine facial features... Good eye, hoshiko-san!

I think Seto Saki will make a gorgeous Michiru. She does have that kind of elegance with her!! And she IS pretty.

Saturn...yeah...I sorta see how she can fit the role. But I was hoping for an even prettier girl.

Ms. Reiko looks cute!! But probably too cute to be Haruka in this case. She seems to fit the Yaten image better~Hm..just a thought.

Actually ganguro isn't an Anime style, its a real fashion style.

GANGURO - The trendy girls of Tokyo.

Here for example, Tomomi Kudo (Ex Para Para Allstar, now a um..*coughbracough* model. Ganguro style!

I think Reiko would be a cool Haruka. Everyone keeps coming back to their idea of what the LA (live action) versions of the senshi in our mind. Remember when some (or most) of us were like "I don't know about this Ayaka person... She saids this is her first acting experience..."

And now we love her...

Tominaga Ai looks a lot like what Haruka should look like. She is a very handsome girl with striking features that could be percieved as masculine without being unattractive. Good eye!
