Other than the series premiere though, most of the Usagi birthday events haven't really been used to promote Crystal. Most of the time they seem to make the big release date announcements and key visual and trailer stuff on their official site. I don't know why there's this assumption Usagi's birthday will be for Crystal announcements when it hasn't really been much before.

As Rika says its wishful thinking of fans but it isnt just that. Usagi birthday events have become a tradition and they used it to promote Crystal like for example the 2015 Crystal stream. It isnt unreasonable to hope for some detail or hint on the most solid SM event in the the year (in that sense that its done by the Japanese side who's "in the know") allthough, obviously, dont get your hopes up too much

The best you could hope for is probably some kind of promotional artwork. More realistically, we'll probably get some updates on the production or a time window for it's airing.

I hope since everyone one is suggesting a Fall release that it means this will be an awesome series with smooth and cool animation like one of those Pretty Cure shows. Supers in 90s had the most vibrant colors of any of the seasons imo.
I "hope" Toei goes hard on this. I wonder if they will reuse the original attack concept for the 90s anime version for the Inners. Will Ami's harp talk like in the manga? Is anyone excited to see the seeiyu list playing as Phobos, Demos ,the Quartet. Will Nehellinia have a sultry voice...I can't wait to see the trio!! I also hope the Senshi get to kill them but I wonder if they will get the "General" treatment from Season 1where the Inners don't kill them. I'm looking forward to Dream and have made myself try to forget what happens but this will be a season that's very different for most fans unlike the others.


I hope Stars gets a better fleshing but I doubt it but I hope it does.

I read the Dream arc of the manga way back in my high school days but I haven't read it since then. I've had all the manga for a long time but I just never got around to re-reading all of it. I've been trying to save re-reading it till after s4 comes out because I want this to be as fresh of an experience for me as possible.

Sounds like a good idea, really. Sometimes I wish I could re-experience things for the first time all over again and this (especially with the little changes Crystal makes) will do that for you.

Might be silly request, but, when date is confirmed, could someone make new topic? That way i wont have to check this topic everytime new post appear, only to have my heart shattered :p

I'm so excited we might finally get a release date! Looks I'm going to have to eat my words of my skepticism about finding out anything new about Crystal at this event. So does this mean Ikuhara is going to come back as director after all?

The event on the 30th is that showing. (They're also going to show the first two episodes of Season III). Since Ikuhara hasn't attended any of the 20th/25th anniversary events until now, some are speculating his attendance at this one, where evidently Season IV information is going to be announced, might mean he's joining the Crystal production team. Of course it's more likely he's just there to talk about the R movie and will have no involvement with Crystal. If it turns out he will be involved in Season IV, hopefully that means a much bigger budget and better animation

Agreed. It's definitely just a rumor or a possibility fans are coming up with, but if a high-profile director like Ikuhara were to come on board, it would have a lot of implications like this.
