If there's only one Sailor Mars, Cristina Vee certainly isn't she because the real Rei would never sound so bland.
She was doing good until she started the motivational speech about dreams. It sounded like a documentary voice over. Something you would expect from CWi and not a dub that supposedly has decent deadlines.

Yeah, if there are any remaining issues with her acting, it's more to do with how she's being directed here since she's known to give very spirited performances in other roles she's done.

Has anyone noticed if the video quality has picked up on these sets? I've been just buying the Madman releases from Australia, but those are getting expensive and I can only play them on my computer...

Almost done with the first disc, and I'm enjoying the redub so far. Fisheye and the rest of the Trio performed well in their two-part finale, and Nehelenia is awesome. As for the Quartet...I like them all. Junjun's my favorite of the bunch, and PallaPalla and CereCere sound good. (I also feel Cassandra Morris works better as CereCere than Calaveras) VesVes is the only one I'm a bit underwhelmed by. Her performance is solid but her voice sounds ordinary compared to the other girls. Like I can still tell them all apart, but it's kind of odd her voice is the only one lacking a unique quality. (maybe her plainness is her quirk?) But it's a minor nitpick, not a major dub-ruining flaw or anything.

Viz changed his name? What episode was this?
Episode 49.

Surprised I missed that. Was it just the dub or did they screw up the sub too?

How is the video quality? Is it better than the R disk sets?

I think it was in the subs too? Best I recall, he's never referred to by name in the Japanese version, but the subs/dub called him Kenji.

Video quality is great. I haven't had any issues with either SuperS set the way I did with Classic-S. So I'm feeling optimistic about the quality of the Stars releases.

Huh. That seems out of the ordinary for Viz. Usually they're style is to keep the same name but pronounce it differently or something.

Thank god. Those madman sets were getting expensive. I may still buy them, but the shipping kills me. When they first came out I knew I was going to be in boot camp and thought that if I ordered them they'd be ready for me at tech school. I was at tech school for 3 months when they showed up on my dad's doorstep.

His name was Shinozaki in the Japanese version, spoken many times by Makoto.

Viz changed it to "Kenji" for some reason.

And, no, his name isn't "Kenji Shinozaki". The episode's end credits only refer to him as "Shinozaki" in Japanese Kanji.

Where did you end up finding it???
Sunrise Records got a copy in today. Had them reserve it for me.

Here's the first clip, taken from the beginning of Episode 161, a good sample of Nehelenia's dub voice.

Next, Usagi's final words to Nehelenia from Episode 166.

Finally, the exchange between Helios and Nehelenia in Episode 164, as well as the first time Helios says Chibiusa's name.

Will post tomorrow, but hopefully these clips give you some impression on Laura Post as Nehelenia.

They decided not to have Barbara Goodson do old Nehelenia then? Interesting.

" I'm not like you." Well, it's no "I still pity you", but I still like it.

Thanks for uploading these.

"I won't give up. I'm not like you." is the full line. In the Japanese version, the line she says (“Anata ni wa… zettai makenai!” meaning "To you... I will never give up!") is split into two halves by a pause in Sailor Moon's dialogue. Cloverway left the first half of the line silent in their version, with only "I still pity you," being spoken and spoken when Sailor Moon originally said "zettai makenai!", whereas Viz has opted to have Sailor Moon also speak "I won't give up" when she originally spoke "Anata ni wa..." and "I'm not like you" during "zettai makenai!". But because the Viz line is longer in English than in Japanese, there's no room for a pause in the middle of her line like there was in the Japanese version, making the Viz line one long, unbroken bit of dialogue.
