This explains why Sailor Moon hasn't been relicensed in France, Canada, Korea, Hungary, USA, Britain, Australia, and pretty much any country with a terribly censored dub. The good news is that the DiC version will never see the light of day in the US ever again. I do know that while Naoko approved of the voices (aside from Usagi's being too deep, that's what I heard anyway. If only she would've disapproved of Liza Balkan's Hong Kong voice acting...), she heavily disapproved of the edits. I honestly can't blame her. I wouldn't want to see my creation ripped to sheds by a low budget cartoon company that went belly up roughly a decade later.

Mrs. Takeuchi ultimately gave the rights under one condition: For the series and proposals to be respected. No censorship whatsoever. Naoko has become very strict with every single detail about her series, because other companies *coughDICcough* really screwed up. She doesn't want that happening again.

I completely agree with both of you. **** censorship. It's 2012 now, not the mid-90's anymore. Things should be as they are from the beginning: uncensored.

I know! I can't wait to hear it haha. I kinda missed the gossip on the facebook page, so I wonder if they ended up choosing Salome Anjari's version or if they redid it with the other vocalist

They also included the dubbed "Maboroshi no Ginzuisho" song too

As for the preorders being expensive, yeah tell me about it L O L I think it has to do because of shipping the cup which takes up more space than a standard dvd box.

In Latin American DVD news: Princess Moon and Otome no Policy which have ALREADY been recorded in Spanish will NOT appear in the DVDs

Another issue that has suddenly come up is the release of the rest of the seasons on DVD in Italy:

The first Italian Sailor Moon S box was supposed to be released this past March but they postponed it to May 20th and now it has been re-postponed to December 31! They just mentioned something about getting the approval of the "licensee."

It is true. It says so on the company's official website. There are 52 stand-alone DVDs that contain 199 episodes.

I think it was reported at the beginning of the Italian revival when they released the first DVD but no one seemed to care.

It is true. It says so on the company's official website. There are 52 stand-alone DVDs that contain 199 episodes.

That's a bit crazy, this sort of reminds me of the Akira movie situation where two different companies (Geneon & Bandai Visual) have released the film in Japan with the main difference between them being the Japanese audio tracks since one of them includes a 5.1 DTS track on each of their discs.
